Disreputable Persons was published in March 2017, and is the fourth book in the Signalverse series.

After spending some time in Santa Florentina with Orchid, I wanted to return to Signal City for my next book; I also wanted to write a team story, and because I hadn't really written much of anything about Signal City's villains yet, I thought it might be fun to put some of them in the spotlight.

The book has a kind of working-class kind of feel to it -- Max is a janitor, Kyel works at a recycling center, and Dash and Ramsay run a small repair shop. I drew on some of my own experiences here -- the book's opening line (a weary "This is my life") is something I've said to myself many, many times at work.

Anyway, I think it turned out pretty well, but this was actually kind of a tough one to write; I was sort of pantsing it, making a lot of stuff up as I went along...and juggling so many characters around got to be a little tricky after a while.

I've already plotted out a direct sequel to this book -- it's called Signal Intelligence -- but I'm not sure when (or if) I'll ever get around to writing it. I really like these characters, though; we'll definitely be seeing more of them, in cameos at least, in later books.

The book is available on Amazon, in both print and e-book editions. The cover art and design is once again by Tom Martin, who absolutely nailed the character designs -- Max, Dash, Kyel, Ramsay, and Skeeter, as they appear on the cover, are pretty much exactly how I envisioned them. I don't know how he does it.
